Practical Advice for Writing Grants
Writing grant proposals can be a daunting task. Dr. Susan Mikota shares some advice in this PDF.
Arthritis is common among elephants in captivity. Cure is not likely so treatment is directed at pain management. NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) are often used but over time these drugs may no longer be effective. This is what motivated Dr. Mikota to become certified in veterinary acupuncture and to apply this knowledge to elephants. In the course of her study Dr. Mikota mapped the acupuncture meridians (energy channels) of the elephant. The Elephant Acupuncture Chart is available from the Chi Institute . Elephant Care International receives 10% of every purchase.
“Mycobacterium tuberculosis in elephants in Asia: taking a One Health approach.”
This book chapter, authored by Susan Mikota (ECI), Gretchen Kaufman (VIEW.org), and Nepal partners Naresh Subedi, and I.P. Dhakal is included in recently (October 2016) published book, One Health Case Studies (Addressing Complex Problems in a Changing World) (available on Amazon).
